Dave Joseph supports the “heavy” industries such as chemical, refining, pulp and paper, and metals and mining in his role as senior industry manager for Rosemount Analytical. Analytical products are used in common situations such as neutralization and leak detection, and very specific applications like removing free fatty acids in biodiesel production. The diversity of these applications require knowledge of the different processes involved, how measurements can improve the processes, and which sensors and instruments will best accomplish this goal. Every question is different and that’s what makes it fun. Dave received a BS in Chemical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and immediately went to work doing combustion research for a company that later became part of GE Energy. He went on to get a MS in ChE at UCLA in 1988 and is now an Industry Manager at Rosemount Analytical. He is a member of AIChE and enjoys bicycling and skiing.
